Arnauds

And now for the last leg of our trip :)

On our way to Florida we attempted to drive through the French Quarter since I had never seen it. I remarked that on the way home it might be fun to eat at one of the restaurants there. So David, being the wonderful husband he is, did some research, made some reservations and Sunday we went to the Jazz Brunch at Arnauds. It opened in 1918 and it and its various counterparts take up an entire block, and the inside of the main dining room is just gorgeous.

If you're ever in New Orleans I HIGHLY recommend it! It was absolutely the best way to end our trip. The menu is Prix Fixe, and they gave us plenty of time to enjoy each of the courses.

My lunch:
Shrimp Arnaud
Garden Salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette (best Vinaigrette I have EVER had...)
Wild Mushroom Omlette with Crispy Potato Strings
Strawberries Arnaud

David's Lunch:
Shrimp Bisque
Salad w/ Blue Cheese Dressing
Crab Sidney
Bananas Foster (which they made tableside)

This is the Jazz group they had playing. They were wonderful and played a song at each table, asking what the patrons would like to hear. For us, they played 'Babyface'. Sam was totally fascinated by the banjo and they made faces at him while they were playing around the room.

After we finished eating we walked around for awhile before getting back in the car and heading home. I love how they have these signs tiled into the walls of the streets.
